Nach seiner letzten Trilogie (The Age of Madness) <strong>kehrt er mit einem neuen Roman zur\u00fcck<\/strong>, einer neuen Trilogie aus unabh\u00e4ngigen (oder selbst\u00e4ndigen) B\u00fcchern voller Gewalt, schwarzem Humor und politischen Intrigen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es versetzt uns in eine neue Welt, die auf einem <strong>mittelalterlichen, dekadenten und von Schrecken gepr\u00e4gten Europa<\/strong> basiert, in dem das R\u00f6mische Reich nie existiert hat und Karthago die gro\u00dfe dominierende Zivilisation war. Er ist bekannt als einer der gro\u00dfen Namen der dunklen Fantasy oder \u201eGrimdark\u201c und <strong>wird oft auch \u201eLord Grimdark\u201c genannt<\/strong>. Er wurde ber\u00fchmt durch die <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kevinmaschke.com\/de\/tag\/first-law-trilogie\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"2708\">First Law-Trilogie<\/a> und andere Romane, die in derselben Welt spielen, sowie durch die Jugendbuchtrilogie \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kevinmaschke.com\/de\/die-koenigs-romane-von-joe-abercrombie\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"3509\">Die K\u00f6nigs-Romane<\/a>\u201c, deren erster Teil den Locus Award f\u00fcr das beste Jugendbuch gewann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Seine B\u00fccher zeichnen sich durch einen sehr rohen und realistischen Ton<\/strong>, brutale Schlachten und moralisch zweifelhafte Charaktere aus, weit entfernt vom klassischen Schema klarer Helden und Schurken. Er kombiniert oft Gewalt, Zynismus und schwarzen Humor mit einem starken Fokus auf die Charakterentwicklung, was ihn zu einer der einflussreichsten Stimmen der zeitgen\u00f6ssischen Fantasy des 21. Jahrhunderts gemacht hat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" id=\"worum-geht-es-inhaltsangabe\">Worum geht es? \u2013 Inhaltsangabe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Europa steht am Abgrund. Krankheiten und Hunger raffen die Bev\u00f6lkerung dahin, Monster lauern in den Schatten und gierige Prinzen nehmen sich r\u00fccksichtslos alles, was sie wollen. Nur eins ist sicher: Die Elfen werden zur\u00fcckkehren und alles vernichten. Manchmal sind es die dunkelsten Pfade, die uns ins Licht f\u00fchren. Pfade, auf denen nur die Gerechten wandeln k\u00f6nnen. Unter dem Prunk des Himmlischen Palastes liegt die geheime Kapelle eines Ordens, der aus Monstern besteht. Sie haben jede S\u00fcnde begangen, jede Grenze \u00fcberschritten und im Blute Unschuldiger gebadet. Bruder Diaz muss nun versuchen, diese Kreaturen dazu zu bringen, eine heilige Mission zu erf\u00fcllen und die drohende Apokalypse aufzuhalten. \u2013 Meine Meinung<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Wie ich bereits am Anfang sagte, ist Joe Abercrombie einer meiner Lieblingsautoren im Bereich Fantasy, daher wird meine Meinung wohl kaum objektiv sein. Um es kurz zu machen: <strong>\u201eThe Devils\u201c hat mir sehr gut gefallen<\/strong>. Ich war schon ganz gespannt darauf, es zu lesen, seit Abercrombie das Buch angek\u00fcndigt hatte, und <strong>als ich es von meinen Freunden geschenkt bekam, habe ich es mit gro\u00dfem Vergn\u00fcgen verschlungen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ich habe viele B\u00fccher von Abercrombie gelesen (die <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kevinmaschke.com\/de\/tag\/first-law-trilogie\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"2708\">\u201eFirst Law\u201c Trilogie<\/a>, die <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kevinmaschke.com\/de\/zauberklingen-joe-abercrombie\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"7002\">\u201eThe Age of Madness\u201c<\/a> und \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kevinmaschke.com\/de\/die-koenigs-romane-von-joe-abercrombie\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"3509\">Die K\u00f6nigs-Romane<\/a>\u201c) und dieses Buch bleibt, wie zu erwarten, seinem <strong>charakteristischen d\u00fcsteren Stil treu, voller \u00fcbertrieben gewaltt\u00e4tiger und blutiger Szenen<\/strong> und mit einem Hauch von schwarzem Humor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Devils \u00e4hnelt ein wenig <em>Racheklingen<\/em> \u2013 aus dem <em>First Law Universum<\/em>\u2013, da es eine bunt gemischte Gruppe von Charakteren auf einer \u201epolitischen\u201c Mission voller Gewalt (und in gewisser Weise auch Rache) begleitet, jedoch mit etwas mehr Horror und mehr Schwerpunkt auf Action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Was die Geschichte angeht, hat sich der Autor in The Devils nicht allzu sehr verkompliziert. <strong>Es gibt nur eine einzige Hauptgeschichte<\/strong>, und der Autor bleibt ihr von Anfang bis Ende treu, <strong>ohne abzuschweifen oder unn\u00f6tige Nebengeschichten einzuflechten<\/strong>. Der Roman ist in vier Teile aufgeteilt, in denen wir jeweils tiefer in die Charaktere eintauchen und die jeweils durch ein \u201egro\u00dfes Ereignis\u201d gepr\u00e4gt sind, das die Situation und den emotionalen Zustand der Gruppe beeinflusst. Das klingt vielleicht nach einer einfachen Formel, aber sie funktioniert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gleichzeitig <strong>vermisst man mehr Tiefe in den pers\u00f6nlichen Geschichten der Figuren<\/strong>. Ich pers\u00f6nlich finde, dass einige von ihnen mehr Tiefe verdienen \u2013 brauchen! Alle haben ihren Charme, und ich w\u00fcrde gerne mehr \u00fcber sie erfahren, <strong>insbesondere \u00fcber Jakob von Thorn, Baptiste und Balthazar<\/strong> (und vielleicht auch Baron Rikard).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ein Ritter, der nicht sterben kann, der in allen Kreuzz\u00fcgen gek\u00e4mpft und mehr gesehen hat, als einem lieb ist; eine Betr\u00fcgerin, die mit allen m\u00f6glichen Leuten zu tun hatte, von Dieben bis zu K\u00f6nigen, und fast jeden erdenklichen Beruf ausge\u00fcbt hat; und ein m\u00e4chtiger Nekromant, der eher darauf bedacht ist, sein eigenes Ego zu n\u00e4hren, als auf alles andere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Abercrombie gibt uns nach und nach Einblicke in die Vergangenheit dieser Figuren, <strong>aber meiner Meinung nach macht er uns damit nur neugierig auf mehr<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Der einzige kleine Kritikpunkt, den ich anbringen w\u00fcrde, ist wahrscheinlich der Humor. In \u201eThe Devils\u201c <strong>\u00fcbertreibt Abercrombie es ein wenig mit Sarkasmus<\/strong>, Insiderwitzen und wiederkehrenden Gags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Auch wenn es meiner Meinung nach <strong>nicht Abercrombies bestes Buch ist, kann niemand leugnen, dass \u201eThe Devils\u201c sehr unterhaltsam ist<\/strong>. Ich habe es in einem Zug durchgelesen und es wirklich sehr genossen, daher kann ich es nur weiterempfehlen. <strong>Wenn ihr den Autor m\u00f6gt, ist euch der Spa\u00df garantiert. Und wenn nicht, auch!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Und <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/joeabercrombie.com\/james-cameron-takes-on-the-devils\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wenn James Cameron selbst die Filmrechte an diesem Roman erworben hat<\/a><\/strong>, dann muss es sich lohnen!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ich kann es kaum erwarten, den n\u00e4chsten Teil dieser Trilogie zu lesen!<\/strong> Der Epilog in der Heiligen Stadt stellt zwei faszinierende Figuren vor und verspricht weitere Teufel in der Trilogie.
